What's On Your Desk?

In the spirit of my previous post about the On My Desk blog - - I want to kick things off by showing you my desk, while inspiring other bloggers to do the same.

I'll use the same format as used over at the On My Desk blog

Kerry Woo
VP Enterprise Relations
VoiceIt Technologies

This is the nerve center of my work; after years of either being on the road, working in a cube farm or one year ago, fouteen months of commuting between Raleigh, NC and Nashville, I've come home by the grace of God. Dorothy was right - there is no place like home!

This is where I write sales and marketing copy, process 100 or so emails, work with resellers, software developers, generate deals, check sales figures, read anything and everything on the web about smartphones and PDAs or news that have an effect on our business. We specialize in voice biometrics software for handheld devices to improve navigation, security, and utility.

Here's my cubby hole of collectables... pictures of my beautiful wife and kids, a Superman patch received as a gift when the original movie came out, a autographed football of NFL QB greats, a Dallas Cowboys momento of my son and I with the Cheerleaders and a postcard of Jesus pointing me to choose life always. Underneath, I try to stash my keys, wallet, phone, and other essentials that I need when I leave the house.

The left of the desk houses my laptop; the rest of the shelves are Becky's papers when she uses the desk. To the right are bills, and other essential papers - pretty much everything I need is online or backed up on CD or in a notebook.

Did I mention how much I love my iMac? I get to listen to iTunes pumped through JBL speakers most of the day fully stocked with 9213 items (26.7 days); Suzanne Vega, Eva Cassidy, Shawn Colvin are calming artists to work by. Skype lets me talk to clients from Japan to Africa, London and here in the US. iDVD, iPhoto, Google Earth render well for the creative side of me. Napolean to the right gives me a bit of comic relief - "Yessssss!"

My other desk is a clothing display table from a closed store in Bellevue Mall. I love it as it is banded with brushed metal with a mesh wire shelf underneath on big caster wheels. We tried to use it as a combo crafts table / kitchen table but I moved it into the office as an upgrade to a wood door on filing cabinets.

I keep the LaserPrinter here and my Blue Screen of Death PC which I seldom use now. It's my network server and other computer when the Mac gets tied up at night.

To the right is my Lego sculpture of a concert stage featuring "The Best Lego Band in Nashville".

Here are my two companions - Ally (9) and Diggy (2). They are awesome because they never bark while I'm on the phone.

I really like the fact that Jesus is pointing the way to the promised land and the first thing you enounter along the way is a Titans helmet.

Always optimistic.
