I see these Christian one liners on church marquees and while some can be cheesy, there are those that pack a sermonette in a simple thought. The purpose of going to a church, one would hope is to grow spiritually with God using the Bible as the instruction manual for one's life.
What resonated with me on the sign above is the powerful image of a leader or a pastor who is going to provide a platform of opportunity for growth in one's life. Yes it is easier to preach ten sermons than to live one. Fathers, CEOs, managers, persons of influence... we seen (and suffered under) them... "Do as I say, not as I do.."
Growth - good growth always happens in the context of healthy relationships. Michael Jackson even sings about "A willow deeply scarred, somebody's broken heart and a washed-out dream.... I'm starting with the man in the mirror... Take a look at yourself and then make a change."
Leo Tolstoy nailed it - "Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself."
800 years ago, St. Francis of Assisi - "Preach the Gospel at all times and when necessary use words."
(note to myself: Growth is good.)

Great take on the theme Growth. Our church is growing also!
Great interpretation. Thanks for visiting and welcome aboard!
Great take on growth; I am a firm believer in spiritual growth; it's nice to see this presented without the "holier than thou" attitude that accompanies so many messages like this. You're right! It does send a powerful image.
Blessed be
