Hey Flickr users - Got MOO?
I'm not talking about emitting a deep, bellowing sound made by a cow, but rather a really neat service by MOO.
"MOO has joined forces with Flickr, the world's largest online photo sharing community, to offer members a new way to share their Flickr information and photos offline. Hooray!
Flickr MiniCards use MOO's revolutionary multipack technology to produce sets of small, customised calling cards: each card featuring a different photo from the last.
MiniCards are ideal for sharing the details of your Flickr photostream, group or image locations, along with email, instant messager, and cellphone info on a high quality card featuring the photos of your choice."
The process is very easy - If you have a Flickr account (and you should), MOO acts as an interface to easily select your photos, whether individually or by your sets.
You just drag 'n' drop your photos to make up a total of 100 mini cards. I picked 50 different photos, so MOO just did the math and gave me two each for my order.
You can crop or enlarge the photo to your liking to fit within the finished size of 1 1/8" by 2 3/4" (28mm x 70mm). On the back side, you can add up to six lines of copy in black, red or blue in your choice of three different fonts and weight.
Cost? $19.99 for 100 (shipping from the UK is free until October 15th - $4.98).
I placed my order two weeks ago, immediately got a confirmation email and within the ten days shipping period, recieved my order in a little hard plastic box. None of the cards were damaged. The cards are printed on heavy coated stock in a satin finish. The mini cards are very stiff, almost giving the feel that they were printed on plastic.
It's easy, fun and a great way to share photos with your contact info on the back. I'm going back now to order some more!
