The In-Lock

Brilliant! Simply Brilliant! I predict this item will be a major seller; I love the simplicity and creativity that went into this product. Can you imagine that next year at the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival, attendees bringing their mountain bikes? Sure beats walking.

Although it's only in the early design stages, UK creative designer John Wrightson has devised this brilliant security device for your bike.

When camping or at an outdoor show/event with a mountain-bike or motorbike, there are security issues associated with leaving your mode of transportation unattended. It is not uncommon for theft of bikes to occur at this time.

'In-Lock' works as a ground anchoring system to secure motorbikes or mountain-bikes to soft ground. To use, one takes it from its casing and screws it into the ground using the turning bar provided. Once in the ground, any motorbike or mountainbike can then be locked to it through the hole in the main body by using any design of chain or lock. Once placed through the hole, it prevents anybody being able to unscrew the 'In-Lock' from the ground. Physics ensures 'In-Lock' cannot be pulled out of the ground by using force, even in the wettest conditions.

The aim of 'In-Lock' is to deter any opportunist thief. The bright use of color for the main body will instantly alert anyone that the bike is secured to the ground, deterring them from attempting to steal the motorbike or mountain-bike. 'In-Lock' could not be simply cut through as the hardened pin which screws into the ground runs right through the body. by Andy G
