The Business of the Super Bowl

From Forbes: (Everything you want to know about the big business of the Super Bowl)

On Sunday, Feb. 5, the Seattle Seahawks will face the Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl XL. Advertisers expect some 90 million people--television's biggest audience--to tune in and are charging accordingly: up to $2.5 million for a 30-second spot. But money affects the game in more ways then just advertising. Since we started tracking the value of NFL franchises in 1998, the most valuable franchise has always won the game--including the upset years of 2002 and 2003. If this holds true this year, expect Seattle to come away victorious--the Seahawks are worth slightly more ($3 million) than the Steelers.
