Digital Camera Reviews and News

Smile! Posted by Hello

After I started blogging and thanks to Picassa, was able to dress up the blog with photos and art, I developed a need/want/desire for a digital camera. My two great children (Gary & Megan) and my wonderful wife Becky blessed me with resouces on my birthday to purchase a digital camera. So where do I go?

Here at Digital Camera Reviews and News this site has all the latest scoop in "digital photography and imaging news, reviews of the latest digital cameras and accessories, the most active discussion forums, a large selection of sample images, a digital camera buyers guide, side-by-side comparisons and the most comprehensive database of digital camera features and specifications."

By the way, check out the right side nav bar for my favorite links under Art and Photography - very inspiring work!

If you have a Treo 650, my friend John Chaffee has a really neat PalmOS application - SplashBlog which lets you instantly publish photos from your Treo camera phone to an online photo blog to share with others. SplashBlog includes everything you need to share your photos, including software for your Treo and a free online photoblog account at splashblog.com. Just install the 30-day trial software on your Treo, create your free splashblog.com account and start photoblogging!

I bought an HP PhotoSmart digital camera last year right before I went to Vegas. I like it. It's not super high tech which is actually what I wanted - just something that had some basic features and wasn't all that hard to pull out and start snapping. I think I paid around $300 for it and I still need to pick up a charger for it because it does suck up the batteries fast, especially if you view thru the LCD screen. I upped the memory stick to 512K (I think that is what I put in, awhile back so I can't really remember). It also shoots video. I believe I can get about 3 minutes of video with audio on there and the quality is pretty good...at least good enough for me.

If you want to moblog, go with a camera phone. It's less hassle than having to moblog with a digital camera and then go to the computer to upload, blah blah. With the camera phone it's just snap and send - done!

Thanks for the tip!
I was at Best Buy and actually was impressed with the Kodak DX 7440 and the EasyShare dock system with the charger and printer all in one system.
I've not seen any phone with an impressive camera... plus I'm somewhat adverse to a Treo 650 as I prefer specialized devices, such as a separate phone and my Zodiac2 with the large screen and now a digital camera. The Palm LifeDrive is impressive. I've always been bent that way... my old friends kid me about my Batman accessories as I use to travel back in 1995 to 2000 for Promise Keepers with my SkyPage pager, cellphone, NEC projector, Toshiba laptop, Sharp Zaurus, Sony cd player, Minolta 35mm camera plus my hard shell luggage and boxes of promotional materials.
