Saturday Photo Scavenger Hunt - Window(s)

Cleaning Windows -
Oh, the smell of the bakery from across the street
Got in my nose
As we carried our ladders down the street
With the wrought-iron gate rows
I went home and listened to jimmie rodgers in my lunch-break
Bought five woodbines at the shop on the corner
And went straight back to work.

What's my line?
I'm happy cleaning windows
Take my time
I'll see you when my love grows
Baby don't let it slide
I'm a working man in my prime
Cleaning windows (number a hundred and thirty-six)

Van Morrison - Cleaning Windows at iTunes

I like this song by Van Morrison as he describes a person perfectly content going about his work life. People might say "I don't do windows", but he's looking beyond that as he likes ...blowing saxophone on the weekend, hearing leadbelly and blind lemon and reading christmas humphreys' book on zen...

Cleaning windows so that people can look out and daydream.

Photo taken in downtown Minneapolis, MN

Hi there! Stopping by from the Scavenger Hunt blogroll. I love this shot and I have always wondered how those people who clean windows are brave enough... guess you can't be afraid of heights!

I love that Van Morrison song. To me it's such an anthem about contentment, about embracing a "dead end" job so your creativity can grow.

Checking in on you is turning into one of my personal joys. I wish we lived closer. I would love to sit down and chat with you!

I was just debating over whether or not I wanted to put a mp3 player on my blog and had already chosen Tupelo Honey as one of the songs in the playlist. How can you not love Van Morrison?

I think I will stick to my principles and not put background music on my page, though. I hate going to blogs with music running in the background that I am not overly fond of.

You are a serious photographer, too. I enjoy your pictures. Thanks for visiting my blog. :)
