Tonite's the night - Down at Wolfy's - WKRN & Nashville Is Talking is hosting the premiere of THE BLOG -
Yup, Inane! Rambling! Rarely Updated!
Bloggers descending downtown even in broad daylight to meet other bloggers - and in living HTML? This could be the catalytic blogger event that will propel Nashville past Beaumont, Texas on the map as a bonafide blogging community and lift WKRN out of third place in the ratings book.
Personally, I think it's a hoot when we call each other by our blognames rather than our real names because we're too shy to ask! But there is a special kinship when the blogsphere is wide open for all to read and be commented upon, but nonetheless, we know the funny stories, trauma and drama, ups and downs behind every TypePad, WordPad and Blogger surname. And I think we're better off because we've made an investment in each other's lives by taking the time to read.
Nervous? Not me! Obnoxious? Maybe, because I'm bringing the digital camera to capture the multitude of Kodak moments. Friendly warning and courtesy - I will not take a picture of you holding a drink in your hand - being All The Rage in a photo is not flattering! By not using the flash setting (which I hope works), the obnoxious factor should drop. Plus I'll be the token Asian, so it's all cool.
I'm bringing a guest - Michael - who influenced me with all this blogging nonsense, so in a way, I'm honoring him. Also, I'm driving which automatically makes me the designated driver, so I'll be on my best behavior.
I hope the appetizers are good - and not one of those all-the-batter-you-can-eat buffets...

As the token part-Asian, I'm gonna have to ask you not to take any photos of me post-one-drink. Cause the 25% Korean is just enough to get 100% Asian Flushed. :)
As a Beaumont, Texas, blogger I'd like to see Nashville take a stab at surpassing us as a "bonafide blogging community" ... but I'm not really sure it's gonna be that difficult! We're still trying to find the guy with DSL.
