I left my feet at CES

I left my aching feet at CES - there was some serious walking at the 2006 International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this past week (Jan 8-11).

Over 2500 exhibitors, with the latest technology for the eyeballs to lust over and touch... fortunately I didn't gather every bit of literature to lug around. I saw everything from wireless devices, plugs, parts, plasma TV, sewing machines, personal tazers and handheld devices and mp3 players.

There were over 300,000 elbows in attendance! And I swear, I came close to having a Roots experience... I never seen so many Asians in one place, which made me feel right at home like a big Woo family reunion. Of course us Asians have to stick together to perpetuate the Asian stereotype... where there is smoke, there is fire... where there are electronics, there are Asians.

Las Vegas was jammed pack - 2 hour waits for taxis were common. I stayed in a old Howard Johnson hotel that normally went for $71 weekdays to $170 on weekends at the bargain rate of $399.00. But hey the show was free!

My favorite exhibitor? Had to be Superior Communications with their stellar presentation of iPod accessories by Cirque de Soleil artists.
