High-Stepping Musical Extravaganza

I absolutely love marching bands! The energetic dance moves, choregraphy, entertainment - I even love Fleetwood Mac's TUSK (with the University of Southern California's marching band) and the movie Drumline (where halftime is gametime!)

Here in Nashville, we have the Tennessee State University Aristocrats -



and the Vanderbilt band...



So my excitement is elevated as I'm making plans to head to Atlanta to check out the:

which marches into the Georgia Dome Saturday, January 28th, 2006

Tickets are on sale now for the thrilling Honda Battle of the Bands Invitational Showcase. The event, which features performances by 10 of the nation's best Historically Black College and University (HBCU) marching bands, is acknowledged as the "Super Bowl" for marching bands, and as one of the hottest tickets in town. Surely the marching bands will be at their finest and I suspect that the sound will be much better inside a closed dome setting.
